Gallery G-77 is pleased to present UTAKATA — A World Like a Bubble, a solo exhibition by Osaka-based artist Akiko Kawabata.

Utakata is an old Japanese word for something fleeting, something that appears and disappears like a bubble.

Through colour, form and collage, Kawabata explores these transient moments: light, reflections and fragments that briefly come together before shifting or disappearing. Rather than preserving them as they were, she gives them another form through an intuitive process of layering, assembling and rearranging.
