Chihiro Taki | Escape Into a Dream
6 - 21 November 2026
11:00 -18:00, Sunday, Monday closed
Gallery G-77 is delighted to present Escape into a Dream, a solo exhibition of paintings and objects by Japanese contemporary artist Chihiro Taki.
Dreams have been part of Taki’s work since her student years. For her, they offer an escape from the difficulties of everyday life, a private world where she can retreat from reality and find a sense of freedom. Although her understanding of life and the ways she protects herself have changed over time, the attraction of this imaginary world remains.
Taki’s paintings combine delicate figurative details with unusual, sometimes unsettling imagery. Her paintings and objects draw on personal experiences, memories and imagination, creating a world that feels both familiar and strangely different. There is a sense of vulnerability in her work, but also curiosity, humour and a desire to look beyond what we know.
At a time when we are constantly surrounded by images, sounds and information, Escape into a Dream offers an opportunity to step away from everyday distractions and enter the artist’s imaginative world.
We warmly invite you to visit Gallery G-77 this November and experience Chihiro Taki’s paintings and objects in person. Whether you live in Kyoto or are visiting the city, we look forward to welcoming you.
