Gallery G-77 presents Variation #11 from Inga Krymskaya's ongoing project 3045 Variations of "The Feast of Venus".
Revisiting Peter Paul Rubens's celebrated Baroque composition, Krymskaya transforms the historical image through contemporary visual language and media. In Variation #11, a large-scale tapestry, speech bubbles filled with a fictional language inspired by digital communication enter Rubens's pictorial world, creating a dialogue between Baroque sensuality and contemporary forms of interaction.
Bringing together historical imagery and the visual culture of the digital age, the work reflects on how intimacy, desire and human connection are increasingly shaped by technological mediation.
