Noriko Kurafuji at Affordable Art Fair Battersea Autumn 2026
15–18 October 2026
Battersea Park, London
Stand K6

Oil on canvas, 116 x 116 cm
Gallery G-77 is pleased to welcome Noriko Kurafuji back to Affordable Art Fair Battersea this autumn, presenting a new large-scale painting from her ongoing Nagare series.
Measuring 116 × 116 cm, the new work draws the viewer into a field of luminous pinks, violets and warmer flashes of colour. At first, its forms may suggest a mass of flowers or petals. But the longer you look, the less stable that image becomes. Forms gather at the centre, dissolve and move outward, shifting between something floral, atmospheric and almost entirely abstract.
Nagare means “flow”, an idea that runs through Kurafuji’s practice. In this painting, the sense of flow is carried by the brushwork itself. Strokes radiate across the square surface while layers of colour repeatedly come into focus and disappear again. There is no single point at which the image settles.
Rather than asking us to identify exactly what we are looking at, Kurafuji allows the painting to remain in a state of becoming, somewhere between flower, landscape and pure movement.
Gallery G-77 will present this new work alongside a selection of paintings by Noriko Kurafuji at Affordable Art Fair Battersea Autumn 2026.
