Gallery G-77 presents works by Toyohiko Nishijima at VOLTA Basel 2026.

Drawing upon the visual legacy of Rimpa while engaging with contemporary technologies and materials, Nishijima creates works in which flowers, natural forms and electronic imagery coexist within a shared pictorial space. His recent paintings explore the intersection of historical aesthetics and technological culture, transforming motifs associated with nature through the visual language of semiconductor circuits, digital networks and contemporary perception.

By bringing together inherited imagery and technological forms, Nishijima's work reflects on the ways visual traditions continue to evolve, generating new relationships between nature, materiality and the contemporary world.
